We get even better tentacles in Sweden's wonderful startup scene together with the non-profit organization Ignite Public. They help us, some of the city's innovation leaders, intrapreneurs and designers, to hand-pick startups from their network who can present their solutions to us in two sessions during the year. If we think that one of the companies has a solution that we want to test, we start a collaboration and develop an innovation pilot together.
Many businesses in the public sector have challenges linked to innovation and digitalisation, but have limited contact with Sweden's startup scene where young companies apply new technologies and new business models. By connecting these two - Helsingborg's needs with innovative, hand-picked startups - new solutions to problems can be created and tested in small pilots.
We do not believe we are solving the challenges ourselves - we need to find even better collaborations with academia, business and civil society. This is one of many steps we need to take to improve these collaborations and contacts.
During the year, two matching sessions will take place as a whole bunch of startups will present their solutions to us. If a company seems to have a particularly interesting solution that we think could suit us, we go ahead and do an innovation pilot together.
