Öresundskraft is currently installing digital technology for monitoring the overhead line network in northwestern Skåne. Smart sensors warn and alarm in the event of faults on poles and wires. This means shorter interruptions and safer electricity deliveries. Work begins on Hallandsås, an area that often runs out of power when there is a storm. Here, line poles are now provided with attachment points for sensors that will monitor the lines and alert if something goes wrong. It can be anything from poles that start to tilt to demolished pipes. The sensors sense the electric fields around the ropes and can therefore be used to immediately locate interruptions or short circuits.
Modern society is dependent on electricity. Secure and stable electricity supply around the clock, all year round, has become something of a matter of course. Therefore, it is important that faults in the mains are rectified quickly, preferably so quickly that they do not have time to occur!
Sensors supplied by the Luleå company Exeri sense the electric fields around the power lines and are used to immediately locate interruptions or short circuits.
