Digidel is a center for digital learning and supervision at the city library. Here the visitor can try digital technology, borrow tablets, computers and get individual IT guidance. Technology is also offered here with help with, for example, own mobile phones or tablets in order for the user to become more digitally involved. Digidel is a service for citizens. It is also an area for co-creation between the city's administrations and between the city and the residents.
Helsingborg's library has a statutory task to ensure free access to information and knowledge and in this, among other things, work with digital inclusion and participation. The experience that others' digitalisation affects library users in a sometimes negative way and that authorities and public services do not always take full responsibility for giving users the conditions to manage the services offered themselves, makes us want to find coordination benefits and new ways of working across administrative boundaries. This is to be able to provide the best possible service and conditions for the residents.
To identify the difficulties and obstacles that exist, we start with a smaller pilot. The target group we have chosen are mothers with a mother tongue other than Swedish. We want to investigate how they handle the city's e-services linked to children & family. We have limited ourselves somewhat and selected e.g. childcare, leisure and school. Based on that, we hope to gain insights and then move on. We will make observations while they use the various e-services. A supervisor must be present who coaches the mothers. We will look both at how they navigate around in and between the different services but also how they handle the technology.
